Power Smoothie

After traveling I always crave something healthy. The first meal I usually eat after getting off a plane is generally a big salad or fruit filled smoothie. I decided to make a smoothie yesterday after my early morning flight but added something I don’t normally reach for when making my daily smoothie. I have become a huge fan of homemade juice and am thinking about purchasing a juicer. I love the Evolution juices and all the healthy ingredients they have in them. Yesterday, I added rhubarb to my mixed berry smoothie. Rhubarb is an excellent source of Vitamin C, which is important to help support a healthy immune system.  It is high in dietary fiber which helps to maintain regularity within the digestive system. It is also a good source of calcium which is essential for strong bones.  Rhubarb is low in sodium and saturated fat which makes it a very good food to help prevent heart related diseases.  It is also high in Vitamin K, which is thought to help prevent diabetes. I always love a good smoothie, especially when I am in a rush in the morning or afternoon which is why I can’t wait to share more of my favorite smoothie recipes. I can’t wait to try a super green smoothie and share it with you.

  1. I always want to try a healthy smoothie but the combination of ingredients don’t seem very appealing. I guess I wont know if they are any good until I try.

  2. I love juicing! I have the Omega J8005 and it’s amazing but Jack Lalanne and L’Equip are good cheaper alternative 🙂 I love healthy smoothies too. I always toss in some spinach.
