A few weeks ago, I rolled my ankle. Sadly, it wasn’t a boxing injury, it simply happened because I decided to not put rubber soles on the bottom of my gucci slides. I was in a rush to get to work and darted down the marble stairs, my bag, keys and phone made it to the bottom, but I didn’t. In an attempt to save my computer, I neglected to save my ankle. I have had all sorts of other injurues the past year (nose, shoulder, hip etc.), but it’s been a minute since I had a foot related injury. Back in high-school when I played soccer and an occasional ankle sprain occurred, I didn’t mind the need for crutches or an excuse to stay home and receive a little TLC, but now that I live alone in the one city where you absolutely need your feet to get around I FUCKING mind. You learn to appreciate the little things soooo much more, like the ability to run up and down the stairs at your leisure or just quickly get up and turn off the AC. Although my mom isn’t here to give me a little TLC, I am lucky to have such amazing friends here in NYC.
Moral of the story, get your slides soled.
