Until recently, Peplum has never been a trend I have been drawn to. I was hesitant about this trend for a while because I felt that it would accentuate my already wide-set hips, but since the trend has continued to stick around I thought that I should at least own one Peplum piece this season. Peplum tops are a fun, feminine twist on your average blouse or shirt (especially for Spring and Summer). I prefer a subtle Peplum instead of the more extravagant Peplum pieces such as skirts and dresses. These trendy new tops draw the eye to the natural waist and also are great at hiding a not-so-flat stomach.

I always envy people who have cute phone cases. Most of the time I use an old beat up case that is usually a hand-me-down. While running errands this past weekend I found an adorable gold polka dot case so it inspired me to research a new iPhone case for Springtime. I want something that is colorful and bright… Something that continually makes me smile. Here are a few of my favorite iPhone cases for Spring. If you see one you like all you have to do is click on the case and it will direct you to the page where you can purchase your new phone case.

Spring Forward

Shirt – Boutique in San Diego // Jeans – JOE // Jacket – Zara // Purse – Steve Madden

I purchased this backless beauty the first year I lived in San Diego. I remember instantly gravitating towards this top because of the feminine front, but loved the extra edge on the back. With the weather almost reaching the 80′s this past week… I decided to shift around all my Spring and Summer clothing. I stored my heavy coats in the garage and boxed up certain cable knits and turtlenecks that are taking up room in my closet. It’s funny how you re-discover items you thought you lost while Spring cleaning. I definitely enjoyed the warm weather this weekend, but am looking forward to the rain that is supposed to hit the bay area this week.

Pants – Target // Shirt – ASTR // Shoes – Steve Madden // Bag – HM

I rarely wear colored pants let alone colored pants with a pattern.  However, these pants  fit perfectly and recently they have become my-go to item when looking to add a little pop of color to brighten up my outfit. I purchased these pants at Target and I am now wishing I purchased them in multiple colors. Who would have thought that pants from Target would fit like a glove? After graduating from college last May, I find myself gravitating toward business-casual attire when I’m shopping instead of items that could be worn to the beach or farmers market. Rather than looking for cutoff shorts and crop tops,  I’ve been looking for blouses, trousers and structured blazers. These pants keep their shape and offer a bright, colorful alternative.

Skort c/o Boohoo.com // Top – ASTR // Bag – HM //  Shoes – Nike Free

Honestly, I can’t believe the weather this winter. Last weekend I laid out. YES – laid in the sun IN my bathing suit WITH tanning oil on! Obviously, the rain finally hit the bay area and I am not complaining because rain always makes for a wonderful cozy weekend catching up on Netflix episodes and eating comfort food without the judgements. During the bright sunny spring like weather, I pulled out my shorts, skirts, and crop tops. Thursday, is generally my most productive day of the week. Who knows why? I guess I just like Thursdays. While running multiple errands on my to-do list I decided to wear my Nike tennis shoes with my Boohoo.com skort for an afternoon filled with hopping in and out of the car. In fourth grade I thought a skort was the coolest thing that hit the fashion market. It allowed you to look cute and stylish in the classroom, but didn’t inhibit your ability to strut your athletic ability on the jungle gym. Sadly, my views toward skorts hasn’t changed much since fourth grade. I still love them for the same simple reason I loved them 13 years ago – they are sporty chic!
